Opening A New Store is Hard Work!

Well, the adventure has begun! We are in the midst of all the preparations to open our new store. It is similar to moving into a new house…opening accounts with the utility companies and deciding what structural elements will stay and what will be replaced.

The space is chopped up with too many walls, so most of those will be removed in order to open up the space. Every wall seems to be painted a different color so paint chips are on the to-do list. Ceiling tiles and carpet are on the demolition list.

We will donate the materials on the demolition list and reuse everything else. We will design the space to be as energy efficient as possible. As in our home, every light bulb in our store will be either be compact fluorescent, LED, or low wattage for the chandeliers.

We have been working on the design for our exterior sign, lining up contractors for interior demolition the construction of  new walls for the office, storage room, and floral workroom. After the concrete floor is stained/painted, the ceiling area is re-worked, walls have been painted, unusual & interesting (we hope!) materials are applied to the walls, then we will start moving in display pieces and the real fun begins!

We are thrilled to be located next door to Second Evolution who shares our commitment to the environment!

We hope you will follow along as we navigate our way!
